Kiddy Grade 2... Exxxcellent. The news of KG2 along with Studio Bones' show Kurau: Phantom Memory (which I finally saw) is reviving my faith in the anime industry. Both Studio Gonzo (who I'm assuming is behind the sequel to their original KG series) and Bones have had hits (KG, Gankutsuou, and Last Exile for Gonzo, and RahXephon and Scrapped Princess for Bones) and misses (pretty much everything else for both) over the past few years, but these two projects have set the fire of anticipation burning within my brain again for what their next projects will be. Yeah, Kurau is a few years old now, but for a while I was planning to never watch and review another Bones show due to their terrible track record of ending great shows shittily (as stated many times before by me, this includes Wolf's Rain, Fullmetal Alchemist, and the previously stated SP, which although ended fairly poorly in relation to its incredible start and middle, is still a fun little show). Kurau gave me hope again. And let's just hope that the same crew that did the original KG is involved in KG2, or else like DieBuster (which held absolutely NOTHING in common [production or plot wise] with its glorious predecessor) it will destroy the memories that people had of the only true creation to use its name. Geez, I never would have guessed that Studio Gainax (who did DieBuster... keep up now, moron) would have fallen as far from their previous greatness like an ordinary studio could. If they ever make a Nadia sequel in the same vein as FLCL or DieBuster I will Hiroshima their asses personally. That would be the last final end straw. Fuckers.

I also started Blood + this past weekend. I was in the mood for a creepy monster series to help get me in the mood for Halloween... So far, it looks like B+ is not that series. 4 episodes in and it's looking like a fucking "magical girl show" where Saya (the meanest, baddest assed slayer of vamps since Buffy in the original OVA) is just a meek, scared, pissy, little teenager who transforms into bitchin' monster killer only when she needs to. Did the writers even see the classic original? If this does not improve by the 10th episode I'm copping out. There's too much other shit I have to catch up on for me to waste time on crap.
