![]() If you read this you're even lamer than me for writing it. ![]() Go Back to the Rossman Chronicle Note to self 96: 06/27/2K Other than that I caught Me, Myself and Irene and Shaft this weekend. Both were good in their own ways. M,M&I was one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long-ass time! The sickness of it all was just beyond words (and the little touches like the watermelon with a hole cut in it in Charlie's hotel room when Irene first comes looking for him and the "looking for the thumb" scene after the credits just really add to it as cinematic art)! I loved it. Shaft was pretty good, and Sam Jackson is da man to the tenth degree! It was basically 90 minutes of him busting ass. Definitely worth the price of admission. Other than that I've been working hard at my job and I've been getting ready for my trip to Europe in a few weeks. That should be entertaining and drunk. Oh yeah, I took down a few Top Ten Babes Runners Up and added two new ones to the list. They should have been added a looooong time ago. Note to self 95: 06/19/2K Anyway,
I saw Titan AE this weekend.... Don't. It wasn't all that
great (though it had great potential [hell, it had Tone Loc in
it!]). Too many things made no sense and were not explained (nor
did I care about half the things that were). Not that this was
a complicated story, but for instance: Why did the Dredge want
humans eliminated? Cause we built the Titan which could make
a new Earth? Which wouldn't even be necessary until the Dredge
want humanity dead?.... Curiouser and curiouser. Just stay away. Also,
when I was in Scotland last December, there was a TV show on
the tele that had me rolling on the floor defecating in my pants
with laughter. It had to do with a really screwed up small English
town, a bunch of ugly ladies, twin little (evil) girls, a scarecrow
and frogs melting on a fire. Granted I hadn't slept for 2 days
before and was drunk when I saw it but I still think it'd be
just as funny sober and well rested. Why am I telling you this,
you may ask? Well, because I believe that the Comedy Central
premiere tonight of the League of Gentlemen is that show
that I saw. I can't be sure until I see it myself, but I highly
recommend it if it is :)! GunDAMN that was funny as *%&#!!! Note to self 94: 06/12/2K I
also got to see Gone in 60 Seconds on Friday night with
the MegaPlayboy and a mild case of something bad from Taco Hell....
-_-. I never learn and I always get the friggin' "meat"
tacos. My own damn fault. As for the movie itself, well, it was
just as it advertised itself to be: Loud and fast. I liked it,
but if you're expecting more than car chases and car talk (like
characters, plot, and plot), don't go here. Also last week, I
read the X-Men Movie novelization. I was pretty impressed.
I had read an online scriptment (well, pieced together by fans)
a few months ago and it was pretty close to the final deal. They
did a good job of introducing all the heavy hitters in the X-Men
world, and the mutant hysteria was tackled very well. Magneto's
character was dead on. I'm possitive that Sir Ian will pull off
perfectly. The only problem that I had with it at all was how
they treated my main honey, Rogue. They took away how strong
and pushy she is and turned her into an early-years Kitty Pryde.
That is not Rogue (nor has it ever been) ^_^. Rogue, even when
she first joined the X-Men and they all hated her, was always
a lot more sure of herself. She was never sure of her power,
but she was always confident in herself. Note to self 93: 06/05/2K Saturday I worked a bit on my pages, then I took off back to Atlanta to see my family. We went out to dinner that night, but then not much else. I got to sleep fairly early cause I had promised my friend Chi-Chi that I'd help him move to his new apartment complex that day. He has lots and lots of heavy s**t. I got a free lunch out of that though, and then he took me out to a bar for some more free drinks (3 pitchers of Killians ^_^) and nachos and stuff... Mostly stuff. It was good, but after that I had to wait until 11:30 before I could drive back to Athens. I didn't get much sleep last night. But that was the only bad part of the whole weekend. Oh yeah, I also saw some American chef beat Iron Chef France on Saturday night! That was AWESOME! U-S-A!! U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!! Note to self 92: 05/30/2K Okay,
now for the end of an era. I finally finished reading Maison
Ikkoku :). Viz has been dragging their feet on Takahashi's
works since they started them in the early nineties and they
just recently completed MI! Now, while they may have slaughtered
major parts of the first few volumes (from not translating how
characters refer to eachother [i.e. the very necessary "Ronin",
"Kanrinrin-san", "Godai (by his surname)",
etc. etc.] to simply leaving out entire storylines like Godai
flunking his entrance exams and having to study a year to get
in again), Viz got back on their feet and did a pretty good job
on the last few collections. Note to self 91: 05/15/2K It
all started when I boarded the plane for LA and got to sit in
1st class (thanks in no small part to my frequent flyer miles;).
What a difference!! I just had them keep the Killian's Red coming!
Free beer!! Free beer!!! @_@. I sat next to this chick who was
the love child of Joey and Phoebe on Friends (i.e. bubbly,
bouncy, actress a few fries short of a Happy Meal). She was nice
to talk to as she wanted to know what it would take to start
her own adult web site dedicated to her (*0_o*).... I was happy
to help her ;). I
bought myself a cheap ticket (made even cheaper when the dude
thought I was an employee there.... I didn't do anything to make
him think otherwise though) and then went back to my hotel room
to relax for a bit (I was still on Eastern time). At 7:50 I went
over and caught the very beginning of Survivor (who started
early) up in my balcony seat. After they were done (they were
awesome! And they had such a good time too:), I met the three
girls who sat right in front of me.... The three desperate girls
(I mean, they were flirting with ME!). Yikes! We talked in between
every set. They were cool, but I forgot their names. Oops. The
next day was a super fun one! I had to wake up early, but them's
the breaks sometimes. I took a cab out and over to Six Flags
over Magic Mountain and spent the day riding coaster after coaster
in the warm Californian sun. It was incredible!! There were no
lines longer than 6 minutes for any ride (and 90% of the rides
had no line at all) and I was just running from one roller coaster
to the next! I even met Ron Perlman there :). I rode every cool
ride there at least 10 times each. I just totally wasted myself
@_@. But then my cabbie Bruce came and took me back to my hotel
with three other really cute passengers (three non-English speaking
Japanese girls.... I was in heaven!). After I got back to Universal
City that night I decided that I was in the mood for some Italian
food that night. So I went back up to the City Walk and found
the place that caught my attention the night before, BUCA
di BEPPO! This place rocked! It was rugged to the extreme!
Great atmosphere, great staff and incredible food!! :^) Anywho, the E3 floorshow began the next day, so I got some needed (mucho needed) sleep that night. On Thursday I was bussed down to the LA Convention Center and got all the conferences and workshops out of the way before hitting the fun half of the show! All I can say is Play Staion 2!!!!! Screw the DreamCast! I don't even want to hear about the Dolphin or X-Box (nice name btw, Microsoft -_-)!! Just give me my PS2 and I'll be happy forever! I can't wait for Madden 2001! This system was made for this game. Not the other way around. I caught the Square booth again (man, their movie was just ultra pinto this year -_-. That whole FF XI silly demo was embarrassing to watch [especially that lame Brit dude]). Working Design's set-up was great (as usual)! I played a good 45 minutes on Lunar 2: Eternal Blue before I had to concede and let some whiny lamer try it (he reset it!! And I had gotten so far!). I got a bunch more photos of me with some booth babes (haven't developed that film role yet) and got some nice "blue-screen" shots with me and some game characters.... but I didn't look half as goofy as I was trying to look -_-. Instead I looked almost freakish. Man, I just can't win! ![]() Here's me punching that Ready 2 Rumble afro guy.... The reason I blurred my face is to keep you from seeing the really really dumb look I have on. It was supposed to be GOOFY! ![]() Okay, here is a nice one with me and four VERY nice cheerleeding-type peoples. See that one on the far left? Can you find her left hand? Seems she tried for an "extra point" right before the picture ^o^. ![]() Aaaaand we'er back with more "disturbing" facial expressions that just tried too too hard to be kooky or goofy. *Sigh* The Rock was cool though. He let me smell what he was cooking. After
being in crowded meeting rooms and convention halls all day I
decided to call it quits. So I retired back to my hotel and ate
some more of my veal and tira misu.... It would be a while before
that was all gone 0_o. Then the next day I went back for more
E3! I did the workshop and conference thang all morning and then I went back
to the fun stuff later. I went to the ADVision booth that day
and talked to some dude with dreadlocks about the EVA
DVDs (and I actually started to feel a bit bad for the company
[NOTE, This was before I found out that those azzweepays
altered the actual animation and screwed up the video quality]
and started to see their side to a few things..... Then I came
back home a few days later and witnessed the reality of it all.
>:( I then saw how little ADV thinks of its consumers....
but I digress ^_^). But needless to say, this feeling didn't
last too long and I soon started my campaign to get them to right
their wrongs. |
